Transition

Transition

Transition

Cullen Whisenhunt, September 2023

With the fall
air comes long
shadows long

-ing to stretch
the full width
west to east,

tying this
today to
tomorrow

Notes:

Inspired by a prompt by the Poetry Society of Oklahoma, "Transition" is written in the tricube form. The tricube is a poem of three stanzas, with three lines per stanza, with three syllables per line. "Transition" was originally written for the Club's September 2023 meeting, which shared the titular theme.
